... Singapore getaway...

..السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته

Alhamdulillah.. Our family getaway went well. Was pretty nervous on how Little I will behave throughout the trip but all the feeling went down the drain.. Really impress with the litle guy. He's very friendly and despite anything, semua orang kan ditagurnya!!

Son is pretty fond of airplanes and trains so you can imagine how excited he went to see them going all 'Wooooowwww....plaaaaannnneeeee!!!!!' at the airport and 'Traaaaaaaiiiinnn!!!' at the MRT stations!! Upon boarding at the gate mesti seated by the window so that he can view all the people working...It's good to know that he can be a stress reliever, semua they smiled and waved at him from down below hehehe and Alhamdulillah, he slept all the way through the flight. Mama and Babah were all smiles! ☺️

Went to all places we've planned back in Brunei like :
- Universal Studio
- S.E.A Aquarium
- Singapore Flyer
- The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands
- Orchard Road (iON, Wisma Atria, Ngee Ann City etc) and we only depended on the MRT!! Bought a $20 worth of Singapore Tourist Pass for 3 days that provide us UNLIMITED travels all around the Lion City via MRT and its buses. Value for money right?!!

Managed to get some stuffs for Little I, got a few clothing items aaaaannnd my long awaited Geox Respira shoes!! Kalau diikutkan mcm kan buy sampai 3 pairs but I'm soooo in love with the one I bought...
Loooveeee the colour!!

Didn't manage to get any handbags this time, hehe ah well... the one ordered online is already something! Disappointed I was yes.. then again, banyak masih my bags yg belum worn off. So, I just let it pass this time around... kumpul2 $$$ dulu hehe

Hubs too got his targetted itemssss... Yes, banyak bh olehnya. True what some ppl say, when MEN shop, they reaaaaally shop!!! Then we went on satisfying our cravings at Krispy Kreme doughnuts.. daily dosage of the original glazed for breakfast at the hotel.... nyum!! Even Little.I is satisfied! *lol*

Speaking of hotel... got a tiny problem with my reservation. Thinking that we could save some $$$ I reserved our stay at the V Hotel Lavender.... my review??? Stayed there on the night of the arrival and checked out the next day!!! Yes! The room was so small... good for those who travel light i.e backpackers. Has a small gerai that sell halal meal tho but it's just not for a family. I can even tell that Little.I pun inda kesiukkan in the hotel. Didn't get a good night sleep and ended up making a reservation for the rest of our stay at Royal Plaza On Scotts... Stayed here once and has always remembered the ultimate comfort of the bed and spending my days walking back and forth from Orchard to the hotel *lol*

So why didn't I booked RP in the first place you all asked?? Pasal they don't have any offer back then and it's expensive! LUCKILY though on my last minute booking (directly from the hotel website) via my phone.. it has an offer which we can't refuse... almost 60% off the regular price (well, I may be exaggerating here.. but it was way cheaper that I surfed on before the trip!) Husband was satisfied with the comfort, Little.I was very happy with the space provided even for a mere superior room... everything about RP is just how we imagine it would be. Plus the MRT stations not that far off jua.... simply going from one spot to another via underpasses and making sure we went at the right exit! Alhamdulillah, since we've planned our journey sudah... we've managed! :) Kinda reminded me of the London tubes... and that Singapore Tourist Pass is a saviour! No need to buy MRT day tickets, it's one off and you can exit at any train stations!! Yes- ANY!!! Oh- except going to Sentosa ofcourse.. the sentosa express is a different train from Vivocity Mall which cost you just $4.00/person and it is a return tix. Would love to ride the cable car but since we were chasing the time... nda lah we jadi. Would be fun tho... maybe next time when all the kids are big enough to enjoy all the rides or probably, just us (Me & Hubs) hehe.... insya-Allah~

Until my next entry.... xoxo~

Working trip

Last week went for a short working trip abroad. FIRST TIME leaving Baby.I out of my sight!!! Ya Allah... Was so sad indeed... It was an unexpected travel, sad but syukur jua at the same time for the existence of free WiFi and FaceTime! Saved my ka-ching on phone bills / credit!

I don't have a laptop, my iPhone is a 3GS and I don't have an iPad... So what did me and hubs end up buying at the very last minute??? iPad(s) !!! Worth an investment really.... Bought the 'mini' and loving it to the max!! Jauh dah perjalanannya ni *lol* Luckily my dear cousin was in Singapore and went back home few days before I went off for my working trip..so I bought mine at a cheaper $$$ Alhamdulillah~

My shopping list grows even more these days pasalnya banyak yg belum fulfilled.

Someday, someday...

I leave this entry with a few pics taken from my recent trip.

... the things I packed

Assalamualaikum all..

I thought since it is still fresh in mind, I might as well typed everything out before I forget.. ~ Packing when travelling with a baby is not much difference with packing when we're going for a sleeping over at our parent's or in-laws except with lots and lots of extra clothes especially when our intention to go to KL is to shop! Now, I have a problem when it comes to diaper changes at public places (changing room, fitting room, strollers... u name it!) Baby.I hates it! He hates it so much that the moment we put him on the changing pad, he'll cry his heart out!! rrrreeaaaaaaallly cry his heart out that a whole mothercare (B) shop will definitely hear him and ofcourse, I will surely get that 'look' from the others...  ("^;^) heheh... and due to the packed schedule since our trip involves 2 whole days on the road (arrive in KL night time, the next day off to Johor and stayed there for 2 nights)with family outings almost every evening and shopping during the day, as much as I hate saying this, I resorted to using disposables for this trip but ONLY with the brand I trusted (HUGGIES Ultra) that surely will not cause skin rash to dearest Baby.I~ He wears them the first month of his lives so I'm sure this is good on him.

Ok, I'm a checklist lady.. so when it comes to travelling be it alone or with my family. I always have mine ready....
  1. Travel documents - passports, tickets or if you do web check-in, printed copy of your boarding pass, list of places to go and things to get.
  2. Toiletries - for Baby.I :bathing essentials, CJs, lotions, toothbrushes, agnesia powder (just in case), HUGGIES Ultra M54
  3. Inflight diaperbag & entertainment - a little bit of everything from changing clothes, toys, snacks, his bottles and fm, hot water flask, diapers, wipes, sanitisers and etc. oh any tablet or smartphones (Flight Mode) for entertainment. When bringing a baby on board an airplane, I guess the restriction on bringing fluid is less.. baby essential is high priority! But for bf-ing mothers, the stuffs to bring will be less ofcourse~ For more info HERE
  4. Babyfood - enough for the whole one week (breakfast, lunch n dinner), packed in a styrofoam container with lots of techni-ice!! Sealed and plastic wrapped at the airport @ $4.00, a can of Enfapro 900g, feeding set.. fave cup, plate, bips and all~
  5. Clothes - a few pjs, shirts and pants, towels and handkerchiefs. A small bottle of baby laundry liquid. Incase ada free time to do laundry.
  6. Stroller - ours' an umbrella kind.. had it since before Baby.I was born. I remember posting an entry about this. Best used as trolley throughout our shopping spree!! *lol* Pls bring the stroller to the check-in counter for tagging, they will take the stroller when you're about to board the plane and store them in a special compartment, it will ofcourse be on the belt with the luggage on arrival.
  7. Baby carrier - despite having a stroller, it is important to have a carrier as well. There are places where it is much easier to move about with a carrier than strollers. Plus, babies tend to get bored when sitting around in their strollers the whole day.. so, yah!
  8. Camera - now I know we all have smart phones.. but when it comes to travelling, I prefer the camera.. better quality photos! Ah yes, charger too!
  9. Chargers - phone, tablets, laptops.. anything you're bringing abroad! Nada charger inda bebattery semua tu!
  10. Hotel / Transport bookings - please ensure everything is confirmed!
At least having all of the above sorted out, you won't be in much of a hassle during the trip. If you're looking for a more detailed list, browse through HERE. I am now looking forward to our next trip together in 2013. Where? Have yet to decide with the Mister.. hehe what can I say, I love travelling and it is good way to spend your quality time with the loved ones! Stress FREEEEEE from work!!

Until next time... xoxo!~

...1st flight out!

Assalamualaikum,

Not the 1st time to go across the boarder for Baby.I but a first via airplane. Alhamdulillah, the trip was worth it ... even though yours truly didn't get to buy what she wanted but managed to snatch a few items. Hehehe.

So how did I prepare for the trip? I did my packing a week in advance and almost half of the luggage was Baby.I's stuffs! From clothes, diapers, snacks and food!! Preparing the food was easy, macam biasa jer....it's packing them up yg abit worrying. Lightweight is THE top requirement, so I decided to use styrofoam container to transport Baby.I's food.... then on how to keep all the food frozen for the journey? NASIB lah that time BabyMe SHop ada instock techni-ice but just two sheets (thought it was enough.... but noottttt!!! good thing I did trial on packing them food) and luckily, ada jua dearest mom online selling them... pheeeewwww~~!

It was an experience to remember... first flight out and our flight got delayed TWICE due to airport closure! Dengan hati yg penuh beruri... I can only hope that all the food to be in its best condition. Alhamdulillah, all the food remained frozen eventhough it was out from the freezer for almost 12 hrs... Oh pls enquire ur place of stay whether or not they have freezer to store the food. We stayed with a family member there so it was no biggie, even to our holiday destination pun we stayed in an apartment w/ fully equipped kitchen!

Flight to KL : Baby.I went cranky not because of the take-off or pressure changes ... most ppl would think so but knowing him, it's simply because there was no room for him to move about. Al-maklum... biasa roaming around kan~ and awal2 atu pun abis dh magazines and inflight leaflet dikacaunya *hoHoho* Datang2 have to sit on our laps during safety briefing until take-off (takes abt 15mins masa atu... and to a baby who loves to move about... that an absolute BOREDOM!) The flight hostess pun giving me 'the look'... because when my baby cries... he CRIES that my parents pun panicked!! *lol* After the seatbelt signs were off.. ok tia. Cos we let him play around.. and he eventually slept the rest of the flight until landing and reaching to our destination.

Flight from KL : Baby.I dozed off during take-off and flight BUT bangun tia when the plane was descending (seatbelt sign ON!) so... cranky ya jua for not being able to move about and since, Baby.I refused to feed ... so yes, everyone just had to listen to his tantrum sampai the plane landed. Hehehe. Hubby and I were both calm handling this situation.. don't know about the rest of the passengers lah ah...our seats were the most front so.. heheh tak nampak lah muka orang lain.

Good thing I've read through BabyCenter.com wrt baby tantrums in-flight. There's just nothing much you can do if you've tried almost every steps to prevent it from happening. So that particular article really helped us to be calm the whole flight / journey. And Alhamdulillah, it was a memorable week spent w/ my little family.... more adventures to come! Insya-Allah~

N/B : another entry on our vacay coming soon~  a little teaser - "JPO"
